In an absolutely unacceptable incident, photos of a stray dog painted to look like a tiger have surfaced online, and animal activists are infuriated. The incident reportedly took place in Malaysia – whoever did it must have wanted to have a laugh or two but the incident has not made a great impression on an animal rights group in the South Asian country, and for all the right reasons.
The group, Persatuan Haiwan Malaysia – Malaysia Animal Assocation posted on its official Facebook page to inform people about this incident, and urged them to come forward with any information they might have about the same. They want the culprits to be put behind bars for their unruly actions.
In a report by LadBible, the group’s Facebook post was translated. It reads: ‘A mystery reward awaits those who come forward with complete information on the incident’.
Pictures of the painted dog were shared on social media by the group, and it shows the canine painted orange with black tiger stripes. The post have over 6,000 reactions and 3,000 shares.
The incident has not only disturbed animals rights activists but also netizens who were quick to point out how unethical and unnecessary this act was. One user wrote: ‘I feel pity to see him.. please find the location where he is.. please save him.. afraid that someone will be wrong.. kill him or shoot or what.. please help. (sic)’.
Another user pointed out the dangers of the paint on the dog’s body and commented ‘It’s a pity that the hair will be damaged after that he lick the chemicals to clean the hair.. it’s dangerous. (sic)’.
Chemicals from the paint can prove fatal for the canine if ingested and no animal should be subjected to such torture and brutality. While human beings might find this funny, it is extremely dangerous for the dog.
Another very important thing to pay attention to here is that some people might not understand the supposed joke right away, and might harm it mistaking it to be a tiger.
