A Heartfelt Farewell: Customers Mourn the Passing of the Loyal Puppy Who Served at the Sweet Potato Shop

A loved one’s ᴘᴀssɪɴɢ is a difficult time for many people in the world, especially for those closest to them. Likewise with the owner of this dog whose furry friend has crossed the rainbow bridge.

This is a story about a Shiba Inu dog who, since 2019, has become famous on social networks for the loyalty and help he gives to his owner, by taking care of the owner’s place of business. This Shiba Inu became famous since the opening of the sweet potato stall, Inu No Yakiimoyasan, a stall located in Sapporo, Japan, and guarded directly by the little animal. It’s amazing because Ken-kun was the only one in charge of the business. His parents left him for long periods alone in front of the sales and until the moment of his ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ that was not a problem for him.

Ken-kun’s working conditions are quite cozy. Inside Ken-kun’s stand is a space heater for when it gets chilly, and right outside is a fan for the warmer summer days. Ken-kun’s owner comes to check on him from time to time, and takes him on walks after his shift ends. Additionally, Ken-kun appears happy and eager to help whenever customers approach. Many times if he hears voices, he jumps up to put his paws on his stand and is ready to take orders, or to recieve pats.

It might sound absurd, because a dog doesn’t know how to count, but it turns out that Ken-Kun has high honesty. Honor is the badge of this name and that was reflected in the profitability of the Inu no Yakiimoyasan. The kiosk became a point of interest in Japan because of the peculiarity of the office. Many customers went to the place just to interact with the puppy, which was undoubtedly a great hook for the business. Ken-kun greets his buyers happily but at the same time, he pays close attention and makes sure the buyers make their payments.

Unfortunately, this furry man who faithfully served his owners for years has ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ ᴀᴡᴀʏ. The news was announced on June 6, via the owner’s Instagram account. The post read: “Today, June 6 at 12:50 pm, Ken-kun left. We received a lot of support from all of you, and I’m sure Ken-kun was very happy. I feel calm because he managed to get to his favorite store before he left. Thank you all so much!” The cause of his ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ has not been confirmed but Ken-kun has been ill since May 31 and has been ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴇᴅ at the veterinary clinic.
