CNN anchor Kasie Hunt has revealed that she gave birth to a baby girl on her bathroom floor after enduring just 13 minutes in labor.
The 37-year-old became a mom of two after welcoming the 8 lbs. 4 oz. newborn on March 1.
She and husband Matthew Mario Rivera, who already share three-year-old son Mars, had been planning a C-section – and so were caught off guard by the sudden arrival.
The couple, who have since named their daughter Grey Hunt Rivera, said they ‘couldn’t be more excited for life as a family of four.’

Kasie took to Instagram to share the story of baby Grey’s arrival.
She posted a photo which showed her sitting on the bathroom floor with the newborn in her arms as a member of the emergency service team swooped in.
Other snaps, taken at Sibley Hospital, Washington, D.C., included one of Kasie and Matthew, 40, cradling the new arrival as well as Grey being introduced to her older brother for the first time.
The TV anchor uploaded the snaps alongside a caption that read: ‘WELCOMING HERSELF TO THE WORLD: My husband @mattmrivera & I are thrilled to introduce our daughter, Grey Hunt Rivera – though really, she introduced herself.
‘Grey was delivered by dad on the bathroom floor after 13 minutes of labor, before we even had time to dial 911, and 24 hours before she was scheduled to arrive via C-section.
‘We are so thankful for the [DC Fire and EMS] team who talked us through the incredibly intense moments before she took her first breaths, and who arrived within minutes to bring mom and baby safely to the hospital.
‘Big brother Mars could not be more proud, and we couldn’t be more excited for life as a family of four.’
Kasie told People that Grey’s arrival was her already showing ‘her independent streak.’

She reiterated: ‘We’re so excited about life as a family of four — and reminded it’s going to be that much more unpredictable!’
Kasie had first shared her pregnancy news with the outlet in December where she said that Mars could not ‘wait to be a big brother.’
She said at the time: ‘For Halloween, he insisted that the baby have her own pumpkin. When we were decorating for Christmas, he asked me to put up a stocking for “baby sister.”‘
Kasie and Matthew, who met while working with NBC News in Washington, tied the knot in 2017 at Shenandoah Woods in Stanley, Virginia.

But she was forced to hit out at online trolls at the time who criticized her weight gain.
One Twitter user, who has since deleted his account, questioned her appearance and shamelessly asked why Kasie was ‘getting so fat.’
Kasie, who was supported by her legion of fans online, simply replied and said: ‘I’m eight months pregnant?’
