When animal rescuers first set eyes on Kalu, the black and white dog was missing most of his face.
Thanks to a horrific injury, there was an infection in the wound, and the tragic pooch had hidden in a hole to await his death.
But thanks to the heroic efforts of animal charity workers, Kalu has made an incredible recovery.
When Animal Aid Unlimited , a rescue organisation in India, first met Kalu, they didn’t have much hope.
In fact, the feeling amongst the experts was that it would be best to put him down and end his misery.
