An abandoned puppy born without front legs has received a set of wheels and found a new home.
Daffodil, who was left on a busy street inside a soggy cardboard box in San Francisco just before Christmas, was eventually picked up and taken home by a kind passerby, Jene.
After realizing she would need more care than he could provide at the time, he took her to the San Francisco SPCA where she recently received a custom-fit prosthetic device to help her get around.
During the process of getting her set of wheels made, a Colorado woman working on Daffodil’s prosthetic project fell in love with the puppy and ended up adopting her, KTLA reported.

‘I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing,’ Jene, the man who discovered Daffodil abandoned inside the box told the SPCA.
‘Why would anyone do that? Pick up the puppy, and then put her right back in the box?’
Jene said he was waiting inside a car and saw several people walk over the box, one even picking the puppy up before leaving her, and walking away before he took her home to feed her, according to the SPCA’s website.
He then took the puppy to the San Francisco SPCA where rescuers said despite her challenges, she managed to get around ‘well enough.’

However, ‘in order give her the life she deserves, one full of puppy playdates and trips to the beach’ they decided to give her a set of wheels.
The SPCA ordered a cast-making kit from OrthoPets, which specializes in prosthetics for animals, and Daffodil eventually received a special-made vest on wheels to get around a little easier.
Olivia, who works for the company, saw the videos and pictures sent from the SPCA of Daffodil and grew fond of her before submitting an adoption application.
She has since taken Daffodil back to her Colorado home where she will provide the puppy with ‘love and specialized care,’ according to the SPCA.
