ET may not be on the phone, but he’s faking it.
The National UFO Reporting Center reports that alleged sightings of alien craft in the Big Apple have increased 4% this year and, for the first time, New Yorkers have sent photos to the center to try and back up their cosmic claims.
In 2022, the center received reports of 28 sightings, up from 27 in 2021. And photographs were submitted in a dozen new cases, thanks to an easy-to-use “revised website.”
Whether the mostly blurry images are actual proof that the truth is out there remains highly uncertain, but they do accompany witness statements that interstellar tourists are visiting New York at an increasing rate.
Manhattan reported the closest encounters of any borough with 13, including a 5:30 p.m. engagement on Feb. 4 involving a motorist outside a Gotham high-rise.
“I took 4 photos of the Empire State Building while waiting for a green light – the next day I noticed 6 orbs in 2 photos in different locations,” the driver said incredulously, adding: “The glow from the building light was so bright that I didn’t notice the orbs at the time and can see why it might not have been noticed by anyone on the ground.

Another true believer reported a “large chevron/boomerang-shaped silent craft” in the sky over Manhattan just after 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 23. He was relaxing with his wife and 2-year-old son at the south end of Central Park.

“It was above the clouds, but still eerily visible and clearly not an airplane or any other type of aircraft that we had seen,” said the dumbfounded father. “It was very large and totally silent and moved smoothly, evenly and quickly, without any sound. . . No one else seemed to notice.
A witness in Flushing, Queens took a photo on the morning of Sept. 12 that they said shows an aircraft “that changed direction and hovered several times (up, down, left, right), which was easily distinguishable from an airplane”. The shipment includes an image of an airplane and a UFO surrounded by a magic marker to create the case.
Queens reported a frightening six contacts, while Brooklyn had four alien experiences, followed by Staten Island and the Bronx with three and two, respectively.
Overall, there have been 167 flying saucer sightings statewide this year, according to the National UFO Reporting Center.
Across the river in New Jersey, 72 UFO incidents were reported in 2022, a 5% decrease from 76 the previous year.
In Hamilton Township, a stunned resident left his home at around 7:40 pm on September 24 to see “an incredible light moving across the sky from west to east.” The dumbfounded viewer added, “There was an aura or haze around the object,” which “left a trail.”
The National UFO Reporting Center, founded in 1974, “makes no representations about the validity of the information in any of these reports,” the website says, adding that “obvious hoaxes have been omitted, but most reports have been published exactly as received. in the author’s own words.

The center’s director, Peter Davenport, previously told the Post that the truth is out there. “I believe we get regular visits from these objects we call UFOs – and I suspect they are controlled by extraterrestrial intelligence.
