It’s easy to imagine Officer Patrick Hennesy wanting nothing more than to get home and crawl into bed while driving home from his shift at 4:30 in the morning.
But when duty calls, a good cop is on top of it!
So when he noticed two pit bulls sitting in the road, he pulled over to see what was going on.
The dogs were huddled up together and didn’t run when approached. That’s when the officer noticed blood on the ground. Backup arrived, and they traced the blood back to one of the strays.
The poor thing must’ve been hit by a car, so they called for help and waited until it could arrive.
They did everything they could to comfort the pit bulls in the meantime, and their patience and diligence would pay off in the end!
Animal Services showed up, and the two dogs were eventually taken to the shelter and named Liberty and Justice.
The pups are much happier now, and the rescuing officers even paid them a visit recently to see how they’re doing!
Gotta love stories like these. ?
