It might be a comedy-action flick, but Zac Efron and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson look to be taking the upcoming Baywatch movie very seriously.
The bulked-up duo certainly didn’t look as though they were playing around as they took part in yet another physical competition while filming on Miami Beach on Tuesday.
Performing a series of pull-ups before a scantily-clad crowd – who included co-stars Kelly Rohrbach and Alexandra Daddario – the impeccably toned twosome couldn’t hide their winces as they took one another on.

Zac, 28, showed off his chiseled chest by going shirtless for the occasion, while Dwayne, 43, hid his sculpted torso beneath a blue vest.
Despite working up a sweat, the We Are Your Friends star’s sun-kissed locks remained perfectly quiffed atop his head despite his difficult turn on the bars.
It’s no surprise that Zac – who plays the part of heartthrob Matt Brody – is keen to show off the his killer physique, given that the actor has been subjected to a strict diet and workout regime ahead of his stint in the movie.

Keeping up: Zac managed to provide the incredibly muscular Rock with a bit of competition
Giving his 11.5 million Twitter followers an insight into his new diet regime on Tuesday evening, the dedicated film star tweeted: ‘9 days of absolutely zero carbs & sugar. Only organic grass fed/free range protein and organic leafy greens.’
Though the High School Musical star was seemingly enjoying a ‘cheat day’ as he followed up his tweet with a snap of empty plates from a feast he had consumed.
‘#Cheatday ! Devoured a steak, 4 side potatoes/veggies, macncheese, 3 desserts, bread/butter, brick o cheese & caviar,’ he enthused.
A long time coming: The film is due to be released on May 19, 2017, 28 years after the TV series first hit the air
And it seems Zac’s devotion is certainly paying off as co-star Dwayne revealed later in the day that he had been thrashed by the Bad Neighbours star.
‘We built a massive American Ninja Warrior style obstacle course for #BAYWATCH. Guess who was faster than me,’ punctuated with a cheeky emoji.
His comment followed an earlier post from Zac, who was clearly psyched up about the active day that lay ahead.
Fooling around! Different scenes showed the two fighting in a pool of water
It’s all love! Despite their competitive attitude towards one another, Zac recently gushed about working with the former wrestler on social media
Fighting fit: The competition was part of a gruelling obstacle course, which The Rock later admitted was won by Zac
‘Nothing like a little #NinjaWarrior training to start the day. Months and months of training for this moment…’
Tagging Dwayne, he added: ‘Bring it on @therock let’s do this ALL DAY baby! #Baywatch #nowiresneeded.’
But it’s all love between the two, as Zac gushed about working with the San Andreas star just days prior and reiterated some words of wisdom he had shared with him.
‘”Blood, sweat and respect. The first two you give, the last one you earn.” Learned that from @therock who I happened to get in a tire flipping race with on #Baywatch. Needless to say I lost this one – come at me on the 50 yard dash and we’ll see what happens, Sasquatch ;)’.
