“MІГАСƖE OF COMPASSION: ЅEⱱEГEƖУ EMACIATED PUPPY’S HEARTWARMING RESPONSE TO RESCUER IN THE CAR”

Jersey Pits Rescue and Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge teamed up to rescue Fig, a severely emaciated homeless puppy. They picked him up off the streets and put him in the car to rush him to emergency.

As soon as Fig was in the car, he leaned on his rescuer’s arm and looked up into her eyes. His rescuer whispered, “You’re safe now, baby” and he leaned closer to her in response.

He was so grateful for his rescue and his rescuer was so touched she almost cried.

“We were so moved by his show of appreciation and gratitude – despite the previous betrayal he had experienced at the hands of humans,” Jersey Pits Rescue wrote on Facebook. “It was quite possibly the first time he ever experienced a warm blanket, a soft bed, and a loving touch. Within a few minutes, Fig was curled up while enjoying the calming classical music. A few moments later, this baby was experiencing the first sound sleep he’s ever had in his short lifetime.”

Fig was yearning for attention and despite all he had been through he had a remarkable ability to trust. He stayed at hospital for a month and then went into medical foster care. He was 25 pounds at the time and a month later he was 15 pounds heavier.

He now impresses everyone with his brave spirit and his looks have changed so much we hardly recognized him.

Although the video above says Fig is up for adoption, the sweet survivor has found a wonderful home.

Jersey Pits Rescue updated everyone and wrote, “We couldn’t be happier for Fig who was found emaciated on the streets of Paterson as he is now living his best life. It is truly amazing what patience, TLC, love, compassion and understanding can do for a dog like Fig. He finally found his place where he is accepted, valued and seen.”

They continued, “He has been in his new home for over a month now and to say he is thriving would be an understatement. It just goes to show how incredible this breed truly is. From starving on the streets to thriving with children and other animals, Fig is a true ambassador for pitbull type dogs everywhere.”

His rescuers also added, “Here is what his wonderful family has to say: ‘Fig is doing fantastic here at home! He is very attentive of all our whereabouts and is always there to greet the kids at the door when they get home from school. Him and his new sister love to play and lounge around the house together. He is the biggest, sweetest cuddle bug and is doing an amazing job at being gentle with our children. We all love him so much and happy he is with us.’”

“Fig we are so so happy that you found your people and we know that you know you are finally home. Thank you to his forever family for adopting a dog who needed a little extra and for never giving up on him. We truly appreciate and admire your commitment and dedication for Fig’s lifelong success. Cheers to many happy, healthy years together!”
