In a heartwarming rescue caught on camera, a baby elephant trapped in mud received much-needed assistance from a digger in southern India.
The young elephant found itself stuck while attempting to cool off in a mud bath during the hot summer weather.
The incident occurred in the Bandipur tiger reserve in Karnataka. The helpless elephant can be seen in the video struggling to free itself from the muddy puddle, lying on its side and becoming increasingly exhausted.
Thankfully, before predators could take advantage of the vulnerable animal, a digger was brought in to help.

Alerted by onlookers, forestry officials arrived to oversee the rescue operation.
The digger’s operator gently nudged the baby elephant, helping it regain footing. Once upright, the elephant managed to free itself from the mud.
The digger backed away, giving the elephant room to walk out of the puddle. Forest officials monitored the elephant for several hours, ensuring its well-being after the challenging ordeal on May 15.
