As the old adage goes, dogs are a man’s best friend, and this pair of pet pooches certainly proved their loyalty when they refused to leave their owner’s side as he was taken hospital.
The man, who lives in the central Peruvian coastal city of Chimbote, had been drinking when he fell and hit his he head.
An ambulance was called to take him to hospital, but once it arrived the two dogs jumped in and refused to leave.

The faithful hounds watched as paramedics treated the man on the way to Caleta Hospital, clearly concerned for their owner as they periodically nuzzled up to him to show their affection.
The dogs then jumped down from the vehicle as their owner was taken out of the ambulance on a stretcher, and trotted alongside as they tried to keep up.
