Unthinkable appearance: Baby born from Buddha with multiple limbs takes social media by storm

A WOMAN has given birth to a baby girl with four legs and three hands in India.Doctors believe the child was originally part of a set of triplets – two of which became conjoined during the pregnancy.

Mum Raju, 24, gave birth to the twins in a government-run hospital in Tonk in Rajasthan, on Friday.

While the baby boy is healthy, the little girl was born with an extra set of legs and hands covering her entire chest and abdomen.

It’s thought the extra limbs could be removed with surgery.

Dr Rohitesh Meena, the surgeon who delivered the babies, said: “Raju gave birth naturally to the twins at around 2:46 am.

“The male child is normal but the female is a case of conjoined twins.

“She had a minor breathing issue.

“We put her on oxygen support and her vitals are stable now.

“We will refer her to an advanced hospital in Jaipur for further treatment and paediatric surgery.

“The mother and the male child are stable.”

Raju and her husband, Badhulal Gurjar, a labourer, were expecting their first child.

The couple, who cannot read or write, hadn’t gone for an ultrasound during the pregnancy and didn’t know Raju was carrying twins.

“They were distressed after the birth of the baby girl,” added Dr Meena.

Doctors believe it could be the first case where triplets are born naturally but one pair is conjoined.
